980 CFPL Celebrates a Century of Serving the London Community on September 30th

LONDON, September 26, 2022 – London, Ontario’s most trusted news talk radio station, 980 CFPL, is thrilled to celebrate its centennial anniversary on September 30th. Since its inception in 1922, Corus Radio’s 980 CFPL has been informing, entertaining and supporting London listeners.
980 CFPL is proud to partner with the London Knights, the London International Airport, Hully Gully Toy Store, and the Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre. The station will celebrate its milestone occasion at the London Knight’s home opening game on September 30th. Leading up to, during, and after the game, the London International Airport will be offering a pair of tickets to lucky fans to travel to Tucson, Arizona. Attendees can stop by the booth at the game for a chance to win. Also during the game, the station is pleased to help raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Indigenous Youth Wellness program and in support of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Listeners can also expect to hear various radio specials this week in celebration of 980 CFPL’s 100th. To commemorate the festivities, hosts Devon Peacock and Mike Stubb will broadcast a special segment highlighting some of the city’s most talked about and well known stories of the past during their shows from 6 a,m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. respectively. On Friday, listeners can tune in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to hear from some of the station’s favourite former 980 CFPL hosts. There will be stories to tell and memories to share.
980 CFPL combines the best of local and national talk-radio programming, up-to-the-minute local news, traffic weather and great sports programming. The station’s broadcast range covers western Ontario from Port Stanley north to Walkerton and stretches from Strathroy in the west all the way east to Kitchener.
