Le Trésor de Saint-Castin
Meet the Baron de Saint-Castin, a larger-than-life figure who was considered a reprobate in his day and banished from the pages of history! Jean-Vincent d’Abbadie de Saint-Castin arrived in New France in 1666 and, by some accounts, became the richest man in North America. He is believed to have buried a treasure that has never been found, except for 2,000 coins unearthed by a farmer in the mid-19th century. Investigators Billy Rioux and Samuel Venière set out to retrace his steps. They relate the details of his claims to fame: the exploits, the smuggling, the mixed-race children, the alliance with the Abenakis. The twists and turns are the stuff of adventure novels – and may lead us to the secret of the lost treasure.
