TORONTO, September 29, 2021 – In recognition and respect of Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, as well as Orange Shirt Day, Global’s The Morning Show is proud to present a dedicated episode featuring Indigenous leaders, personalities and authors. The special was announced on-air this morning with Kukpi7 Chief Rosanne Casimir.

The show will feature esteemed journalist and bestselling author Tanya Talaga, Big Brother Canada Season 9 houseguest Kiefer Collison, artist, writer and educator Dr. Jenny Kay Dupuis, the Moose Hide Campaign daughter-father founders Raven and Paul Lacerte, multi-award winning author David A Robertson as well as Neil Sasakamoose to discuss his late Father’s book, Call Me Indian.

The segments will cover topics such as finding a path forward, the importance of Indigenous representation in pop culture, the need for the residential school reckoning, recommendations on books every Canadian kid should read, and more.

The Morning Show airs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET/PT and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. AT.
