TORONTO, May 27, 2024 – You’ve heard the story of the lost goldmine, but what about the startling disappearance of the gold-seekers themselves? The Deadman’s Curse team is back Monday, June 3 with a haunting new tale, Deadman’s Curse: Volcanic Gold – the second season in the popular podcast series.

On a night cold enough to freeze your bones, a prospector searching for a legendary lost gold mine in the wilderness of British Columbia vanishes without a trace – deeming him a possible victim of the curse. Host and explorer Kru Williams aims to solve the mystery of the disappearance as he retraces the steps of the fortune seekers looking for ‘the motherload’ – billions of dollars’ worth of gold.

Season two of this historical true crime podcast, produced by Great Pacific Media (GPM), Curiouscast and Corus Entertainment, will leave listeners wanting more with every new episode.

“We are so proud of the team behind this award-winning podcast and can’t wait for season two, Deadman’s Curse: Volcanic Gold,” said Corus’ Director of Streaming and Podcasting, Chris “Dunner” Duncombe. “This season Kru Williams and the team take us much deeper into the curse and tell the tales of prospectors like Volcanic Brown who met their early demise searching for the lost gold mine.”

New episodes of Deadman’s Curse: Volcanic Gold podcast will be available every Tuesday on Curiouscast, Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon Music and wherever you find your favourite podcasts.

“GPM is thrilled to be continuing this journey with our great partners at Curiouscast for the second season of the Deadman’s Curse podcast,” said David Way, CEO of Great Pacific Media. “Our host Kru Williams takes us deeper into the legend of the lost gold mine. Last season’s Signal Award wins were a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team behind this series, and we’re excited to share a whole new season with our listeners.”

In 2023, Deadman’s Curse: Slumach’s Gold won three Signal Awards – Gold for History Series, Silver for Writing, and the Listeners Choice Award for Writing (Unscripted). The podcast is based on the award-winning HISTORY® Channel show, Deadman’s Curse, which has won three Leo awards: Best Information, Lifestyle or Reality Program or Series, Best Screenwriting in an Information, Lifestyle or Reality Series and Best Picture Editing in an Information, Lifestyle or Reality Series. Season two is expected to premiere on The HISTORY Channel this fall.
