CURIOUSCAST ADDS TASTY CANADIAN
TRUE CRIME PODCAST DARK POUTINE TO LINEUP
Podcast Joins Curiouscast’s Growing Roster of Canadian Originals
TORONTO, October 9, 2018 – One of Canada’s most popular true crime podcasts, Dark Poutine, has joined Corus Entertainment’s Curiouscast podcast network. Following Curiouscast’s addition of fellow Canadian true crime podcast Nighttime last month, Dark Poutine further bolsters the network’s expanding roster of Canadian originals including Global News’ This Is Why, When Life Gives You Parkinson’s and the #1 music podcast in Canada on Apple Podcasts*, The Ongoing History of New Music.
“As a network dedicated to promoting powerful Canadian podcasts we are thrilled to welcome Dark Poutine to our lineup at Curiouscast,” said Chris “Dunner” Duncombe, Director of Streaming and Podcasting for Corus Entertainment. “This addition further signals our commitment to be the destination for high-quality podcasts in Canada.”
Dark Poutine is an unabashedly Canadian weekly podcast that covers true crime, dark history and other creepy topics, recorded in Surrey, B.C. by creator Mike Browne and longtime friend/co-host Scott Hemenway. Born on Halloween 2017, Dark Poutine has seen early success – approaching one million downloads in less than a year.
“As a proudly Canadian podcast we are over the moon to have this opportunity,” said Mike Browne, creator of Dark Poutine. “With Corus backing us, Dark Poutine‘s rabidly loyal listeners, also known as good eggs, can look forward to many more episodes of our show.”
Corus Entertainment’s Curiouscast podcast network launched earlier this year and is home to internationally recognized brands with diverse audio storytelling; Dark Poutine will proudly represent Curiouscast at this year’s Vancouver Podcast Festival (November 8-10).
Curiouscast is part of the Corus Entertainment Network.
