CKNW AM 980 REVITALIZES ITS WEEKEND SCHEDULE WITH FOUR NEW TALK SHOWS
VANCOUVER – CKNW AM 980 is refreshing its weekend line-up with a slate of all-star programming that’s sure to keep listeners tuning in. Bringing his ingenuity to the Lower Mainland, acclaimed talk radio host Roy Green is hitting airwaves with The Roy Green Show airing Saturdays from Noon – 2 p.m. PT and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. PT. Green is a three-time consecutive winner of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters National Gold Ribbon Award, one of Canada’s most prestigious broadcast awards. He’s also a passionate advocate for the average Canadian, with an unshakable desire for justice and a deep and abiding love for his country.
Award-winning investigative journalist John Daly is making his comeback to broadcasting with a new talk-show, Back on the Beat, airing Saturdays in the 11 a.m. PT time-slot. Daly is best known as a reporter for Global News BC where he spent over 35 years breaking stories, including the sudden plea bargain of one of the Surrey Six murderers and the simultaneous take-down of notorious gangster, Jamie Bacon.
Also airing Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. PT – noon, Global News Reporter, Laurel Gregory digs into the tough parenting questions in her weekly show, Family Matters. Each week, Laurel will engage the experts and poll parents and kids, to help families navigate every stage from baby to toddlers, tweens to teens, and young adults.
“We’re excited to bring a new weekend schedule to listeners featuring the best in the business,” says Larry Gifford, Manager Talk and Talent, CKNW AM 980. “Roy’s experience, John’s tenacity, Laurel’s curiosity and Mike’s tech expertise will make excellent additions to our well-rounded team of hosts.”
