VETERAN TORONTO POLICE INSPECTOR, HANK IDSINGA, JOINS 640 TORONTO AND GLOBAL NEWS AS REGULAR CRIME COMMENTATOR

TORONTO, January 15, 2024640 Toronto and Global News are thrilled to announce that retired Toronto Police Services top homicide investigator, Hank Idsinga, will join as a regular commentator on both programs.

Beginning on January 15, Hank will discuss items in the news related to crime, policing, community safety and policy review. No stranger to the world of crime, Hank has investigated some of the city’s most prolific homicide suspects including Bruce McArthur, who was found guilty of murdering eight men between 2010 and 2017 in Toronto’s LGBTQ+ Village.

“Hank is one of the most respected members of Toronto Police in recent history, and we are delighted to have him join the 640 Toronto team,” said Mike Bendixen, National Director, Talk Radio. “His added expertise furthers our continued commitment to bringing listeners inside details and unique, informed perspectives into the news of the day.”

The veteran detective joins the station after 34 years of service with Toronto Police Services – retiring at the end of 2023.

“I look forward to joining the team at 640 Toronto and Global News to provide the public with fresh insights into some of the issues facing our communities,” said Hank Idsinga. “Crime and disorder are major concerns for Torontonians, whether it’s stolen vehicles, random violence on our streets, or how we handle the current protests in our public spaces.”

Hank will begin his on-air appearances January 15.
