 NEW MORNING SHOW LAUNCHES ON THE GLOBAL TV APP

TORONTO, April, 24, 2020 Global News Weekend, a new morning show co-hosted by Aalia Adam and Mike Arsenault streaming on the Global TV App, officially launches on Saturday, April 25. The fresh new program, created specifically for audiences tuning into Global News digital platforms, including the Global TV App and globalnews.ca, airs every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET. The three-hour long program provides a mix of news, weather and in-depth interviews.

Adam started her career with Global Montreal in 2008 where she spent five years as a reporter, web producer and weather specialist. She briefly worked with other broadcasters in Montreal before joining the online national team at Global News in Toronto in 2017. In her most recent role with the network, she worked as an online video journalist and has played a key role in the success of the Global News channel on YouTube. Born and raised in Montreal, Que., Adam holds a journalism degree from Concordia University.

Arsenault joined Global News in 2015 as a weather specialist, but has since transitioned to the role of digital broadcast journalist.  He recently created, produced and hosted the following digital series: Second Serve, What’s Your Fitness Age, The Culture of Fitness, Fitness Served Cold and The Training Ground. Prior to joining Global News, Arsenault was an on-camera presenter and field reporter with The Weather Network. He has also worked as sideline reporter for ESPN and CBS. His career in journalism began in print when he worked as a sports columnist for a local newspaper in London, Ont., while playing semi-professional baseball.
