TORONTO, November 3, 2021 – Lest we forget. Global News is proud to provide comprehensive national coverage honouring our country’s armed forces for Remembrance Day. For the 11th consecutive year, Global News will partner with No Stone Left Alone Foundation, who continue to acknowledge and educate students and youth about the sacrifices and bravery of those who served. Additionally, the network will again broadcast the special Canada Remembers on Remembrance Day to commemorate our nation’s history.

On Thursday, November 4, the 2021 No Stone Left Alone ceremonies will be live streamed nation-wide on Globalnews.ca and via each local station’s Facebook page at the following times:

The No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation operates Veterans Week events for students with the mission to place poppies on the headstones of veterans, while educating the public on the stories of sacrifice by members of the armed forces. Since its launch in 2011, more than 100 ceremonies now occur in 68 communities across Canada and are attended by elected officials, military, indigenous leaders, and local dignitaries.

Additionally, Global News Edmonton Anchor Gord Steinke will host We Remember, a No Stone Left Alone special presentation on Global TV Edmonton and Calgary November 6 at 7 p.m. MT. The broadcast will include the North American premiere of excerpts from the movie Died for Freedom narrated by Dan Aykroyd. The moving film is a story of service, loss and remembrance that ties one Canadian family to a remote village in France.

Then on Remembrance Day, Global National Anchor and Executive Editor Dawna Friesen will host Canada Remembers, a special broadcast airing Thursday, November 11 at 7:30 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. MT / 9:30 a.m. CT / 10:30 a.m. ET. The special will include live coverage of the Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa.

Coverage will be available on the Global TV app, Globalnews.ca, Global News YouTube channel, Global News Radio and on Amazon Prime Video channels.
