Global News Announces Toronto’s First Major Mayoral Election Campaign Debate

Debate to take place Tuesday, September 25th at 4 p.m.

TORONTO, September 20, 2018 – Global News will host a live Toronto mayoral election campaign debate, as part of the network’s ongoing coverage in the lead up to the 2018 Toronto municipal election.

The debate, currently the first to be held by a major broadcaster in Toronto, will take place on Tuesday, September 25th, at 4:00 p.m. ET. Moderated by Global News’ Farah Nasser and Global News Radio’s John Oakley, the debate will air live on Global News Radio 640 Toronto and Globalnews.ca, with highlights televised on Global News at 5:30 & 6.

Debate participants will include the following four registered mayoral candidates: Sarah Climenhaga, Saron Gebresellassi, Jennifer Keesmaat and incumbent Toronto Mayor John Tory.

The debate will be held at Corus Quay, the headquarters of Corus Entertainment, followed by post-debate scrums; both will be open to accredited members of the media.
