CALGARY, September 1, 2021Global Calgary announced today that Blake Lough is officially joining Dallas Flexhaug and Leslie Horton on Global News Morning, effective September 8. Rounding out the team, Meteorologist Tiffany Lizée joins as Weather Anchor.

Lough is familiar to Calgarians for previous time spent anchoring Global News Morning Weekend and Global News at 11. Lough has been a journalist with Global Calgary since 2018. He was previously the anchor of Global News at 6 and host of Focus Saskatchewan at Global Regina. He began his career with Global Lethbridge where he covered major stories like the high-profile Derek Saretzky murder case and the 2015 Alberta election.

In recent years, he has won four RTDNA awards, including the Dave Rogers National Award for Best Long Feature for his story on Saskatchewan’s culture of drinking and driving. Originally from the Ottawa Valley, Lough is a graduate of the broadcast journalism program at Niagara College.

Lizée is a certified meteorologist who joined the Global Calgary team in 2018. She was previously the Chief Meteorologist at Global Regina and first joined the Global News team in 2012. Raised on a farm in southern Saskatchewan, Lizée became fascinated with the sky at a young age and loyally watched local weather forecasts with her family to determine the impacts on their farm each day. She quickly became passionate about meteorology and after studying radio and television arts at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, she received her operational meteorology certificate from Mississippi State University. She officially joins the Global News Morning and Global News at Noon team on September 8.

Born and raised in Calgary, Dallas Flexhaug is a longtime anchor with the station. In 2005, she joined the Global News family in Lethbridge, before returning to Calgary in 2007. She has been an anchor, reporter and producer with the team ever since. She holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies degree from the University of Calgary and SAIT.

Her career highlights include travelling to Texas to compare the changing energy sector landscape between Alberta and Texas, being on scene at the BC wildfires in 2017 and 2021, and covering the Fort McMurray floods of 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic Reporter Leslie Horton delivers comprehensive traffic coverage weekdays on Global News Morning and Global News at Noon. A talented and experienced broadcaster, Horton’s career has taken her across Western Canada. She held various roles in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan before joining Global Calgary in 1995. Horton is originally from Vancouver, B.C. and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from UBC and a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from BCIT. One of her proudest accomplishments is the annual Global News Morning of Giving which focuses on giving back to Calgary’s underserved communities each holiday season.

We are thrilled to welcome Blake and Tiffany to the Global News Morning team, alongside the very talented Leslie and Dallas” said Carmela Gentile, Global Calgary, News Director and Station Manager. “Many Calgarians loyally start their days with our morning show and we look forward to our audience enjoying this great team as part of their daily routines.”

Global News Morning airs weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m. MT. on Global.
