TORONTO, June 6, 2018 – It’s time to discover whose cuisine reigns supreme in Canada! Today, Food Network Canada announced the first three Iron Chefs joining the inaugural season of Iron Chef Canada (20×60). Set to premiere this fall on Food Network Canada, celebrated chefs Hugh Acheson, Lynn Crawford and Susur Lee will face off in head-to-head battles with notable chef competitors from across the country. Each will have 60 minutes to prepare five dishes using a featured “secret ingredient.” Dishes will be judged on taste, presentation and originality by a panel of culinary experts and industry professionals. The chef with the highest score wins that battle and supreme bragging rights.

Learn more about the first three elite Canadian Iron Chefs:

Hugh Acheson, @hughacheson
Hugh Acheson is an internationally-recognized chef, author and restaurateur, originally hailing from Ottawa and currently living in Athens, Georgia. He is the chef/owner and partner of the restaurants 5&10 and The National in Athens, Ga. and Empire State South, Achie’s and Spiller Park Coffee in Atlanta, Ga. His cookbook, A New Turn in the South, won the award for Best Cookbook in the field of “American Cooking” by the James Beard Foundation and awarded him “Best Chef Southeast” in 2012. Hugh competed in Top Chef Masters, Season 3 and starred as a judge on Top Chef, Seasons 9 to 13.

Lynn Crawford, @Chef_Lynn
Food Network Canada Celebrity Chef and award-winning cookbook author, Lynn Crawford has over 25 years of culinary experience. Chef Lynn is the winner of the 2017 Gourmand World Cookbook Award, and recent recipient of the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award by Canada’s 100 Best. Having served as Executive Chef in notable kitchens on both sides of the border, Lynn is the chef-owner of Toronto’s Ruby Watchco, garnering critical acclaim as one of the best restaurants in the country. Chef Lynn has competed on Iron Chef America, where she was the first Canadian female chef to battle in kitchen stadium, on Top Chef Masters, and was a resident judge on Chopped Canada. Chef Lynn has also made regular television appearances on Top Chef Canada and Restaurant Makeover.

Susur Lee, @SusurLee
The multi-award winning, world-renowned Chef Susur Lee, known affectionately as ‘the ponytailed chef’, is arguably one of the world’s most creative chefs. Best known for his original take on Asian-inspired cuisine, Chef Lee perfectly combines the best Asian flavours with western culinary techniques.
