Corus Entertainment Appoints First Head of Environment and Sustainability

TORONTO, November 22, 2021 – Corus Entertainment Inc. (TSX:CJR.B) announced today the appointment of Sheila Ritson-Bennett as the company’s first Head of Environment and Sustainability.

In this newly created role, Ritson-Bennett will play an integral role in working with leaders across the company to shape Corus’ broader environment, social and governance (ESG) strategy while providing expert legal and industry counsel on related social and policy matters.

Ritson-Bennett is an ESG industry expert with over 15 years of legal, risk and regulatory experience. She has held positions with major financial institutions, working as environment and climate change counsel as well as in risk management. She also has extensive experience within government, working as legal counsel at the Ministries of Natural Resources, Forestry and Energy with expertise in regulatory, environmental, trade and aboriginal law.

In addition to a bachelor of law degree, Ritson-Bennett also holds a graduate degree in climate change law. She is the co-founder of the Climate Change Lawyers Network and a former Executive Member of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Environment, Energy and Resources Law Section.

This new appointment, effective today, reports directly to Jennifer Lee, Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
