TORONTO, September 16, 2019 – Trick or eat, more than ever before! This fall, Food Network Canada debuts the Spookylicious stunt and schedule with over 40 hours of new Halloween series, seasons and specials. On September 23, spellbinding series Halloween Baking Championship premieres, and the #1 program on the network last fall* Halloween Wars returns September 29, both at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The network also welcomes new Canadian original series The Big Bake, a thrilling addition to the lineup featuring colossal confections themed for Halloween, holiday and spring. The series kicks off with ghoulishly wicked episodes of The Big Bake: Halloween (4×60) on October 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Plus, all new series include Halloween Cake-Off and Freakshow Cakes while scary specials include Halloween Wars Specials and Outrageous Pumpkins.

A seasonally themed baking competition series joining the slate this fall, The Big Bake delivers show-stopping cakes and creations. Hosted by television personality and restaurateur Brad Smith, each episode sees three professional baking teams create towering, eye-popping cakes for the $10,000 prize in only five hours. The Ambitious teams must impress the roster of resident judges: celebrity chef Eddie Jackson (Christmas Cookie Challenge), and author and television personality Harry Eastwood (Cook Yourself Thin). A guest judge joins each episode including Ron Ben-Israel (Sweet Genius), Duff Goldman (Kids Baking Championship), Anna Olson (Bake with Anna Olson), Nancy Fuller (Farmhouse Rules) and more. Beginning with The Big Bake: Halloween on October 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the premiere episode “Monster Madness” showcases teams from Moncton, N.B., Cornwall, UK, and New York, N.Y. as they vie for the grand prize, creating the most sensationally scary monster cakes the judges have ever seen. Halloween Baking Championship, Season 5 (6×60)
New season premieres September 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Judges Carla Hall, Katie Lee and Zac Young, join host and comedian John Henson as the country’s top bakers battle it out to create Halloween’s spookiest and most irresistible treats. From creepy-crawly desserts to towering confections of terror, these bakers must prove their skills to a panel of judges in order to land the $25,000 prize and the title of Halloween Baking Champion.

Halloween Wars, Season 9 (5×60)
New season premieres September 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
New Halloween Wars Specials (3×60) premiere September 29, October 13 and October 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Hosted by Jonathan BennettHalloween Wars features teams of cake decorators, candy makers and amazing pumpkin carvers. Each teams’ creations are judged by award-winning cake decorator Shinmin Li, horror film special effects master Todd Tucker, and a rotating panel of celebrity guest judges, including Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things), Jackson Rathbone (Twilight saga), Harley Quinn Smith (Tusk), and Elvira: Mistress of the Dark!. 

Outrageous Pumpkins (1×60)
New special premieres September 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Hosted by Casey Webb, four elite pumpkin carvers come together for a Halloween pumpkin carving competition that defies expectations. Through three rounds of challenges, these spectacularly talented artists use carving and sculpting tools to execute their amazingly intricate Halloween designs. The carver who impresses the expert panel of judges the most takes home a $10,000 prize.

Freakshow Cakes (4×30)
New series premieres October 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Co-hosted by Zac Young and Vivian Chan, three of the most sinister cake artists step into a side-show tent to whip up the freakiest cakes imaginable. The baker who showcases the most wildly imaginative and hair-raising cake design wins $10,000 and the title of Freakshow Champion.


Haunted Gingerbread Showdown, Season 2 (4×60)

New season premieres October 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Host Clinton Kelly welcomes nine of the best gingerbread artists in the country to craft spooky gingerbread creations. Judges Jamika Pessoa, Gesine Prado and Jason Smith determine who will advance to the finale to battle it out for the $25,000 prize.

The Big Bake (18×60)

New Canadian original series premieres October 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
The Big Bake is a larger-than-life holiday baking competition series with themed Halloween (4×60), holiday (7×60) and spring (7×60) episodes. In each episode, three professional baking teams have five hours to design, bake and decorate a grand-scale cake creation based on a particular theme. These bakers need to think big and bold, blowing up their designs to gigantic proportions and thinking outside the (bakery) box. In the end, the most Ambitious, eye-popping and delicious cake will go home with a $10,000 prize.

Halloween Cake-Off (4×60)
New series premieres October 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Duff Goldman hosts new series Halloween Cake-Off as four professional bakers compete in unconventional baking and design challenges to find out who is the master of creating the most ghoulish, outlandish and spooky Halloween cakes. The competitor who wows judges Duff Goldman, Dan Langan and Waylynn Lucas with the most over-the-top edible work of art will be crowned winner of Halloween Cake-Off and earn the $10,000 grand prize.

The Halloween spirit continues into themed episodes of fan-favourite series featuring well-known hosts. Halloween episodes include Kids Baking Championship with hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman on October 6 at 8 p.m., Chopped Junior on October 8 at 9 p.m., Chopped on October 15 at 9 and 10 p.m., Guy’s Grocery Games with host Guy Fieri on October 16 and 23 at 9 p.m., and Molly Yeh’s Girl Meets Farm on October 20 at 11:30 a.m. ET/PT.
