(Toronto, Canada) YTV jump starts its lineup of Halloween programming with the sneak peek of the new Nelvana Studios series Ruby Gloom on Friday the 13th at 6 p.m. Chronicling the adventures of Ruby and her off-beat circle of friends, the series joins the schedule in its regular timeslot on Sunday, October 15 at 11 a.m. Ruby Gloom follows Ruby, an out-of-the-ordinary girl living on the outskirts of Gloomsville, a town where everything is a little different, and the oddest of characters make the best of friends. RubyÕs perfect day is a gloomy one, but dubbed the Òhappiest girl in the world,Ó Ruby always sees the bright side of things and encourages her friends to celebrate their differences. Home to an eclectic group of characters like one-eyed Iris, Doom Kitty, Skull boy, Misery, Boo Boo and Mr. Buns, this ironic comedy emphasizes the importance of friendship and acceptance. In the premiere episode Ruby Gloom: Gloomer Rumour, Ruby plans a surprise party, but due to a series of mishaps and broken telephone, everyone gets the wrong impression that RubyÕs moving out.
