Canadian Musicians Kim Mitchell, Tomi Swick, Goddo and More Saturday, August 4 at Gage Park, Starting at Noon Presented By Max Trax Digital Music

(Hamilton, Canada) Hamilton’s ONLY Rock Station, Y108 is proud to announce its second annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic at Gage Park on August 4 at noon. This free all-day event features a stellar line-up of Canadian artists including Kim Mitchell, Juno-winning Hamilton hero Tomi Swick, Montreal’s Priestess, legendary power trio Goddo, plus one talented Hamilton-area aspiring musical act, Y108’s house band The Y’s Guys and much more. Leading up to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic is Y108’s local independent talent competition, presented by the station’s Get Hammered Indie Showcase in co-operation with The Legendary Red Rooster Vintage Café in Burlington. Seeking the area’s hottest up-and-coming musicians, this talent search gives five aspiring indie bands the shot at getting their name on the August 4 bill and $5,000 in prize money.

“We had 15,000 people at last year’s picnic and we are stoked to bring back the Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic to Hamilton for a second year,” said Derm Carnduff, Program Director at Y108. “What better way to thank our listeners for their continuing support, while giving future Canadian rock artists the chance to play for a stadium-size crowd.”

A family-friendly event, the picnic features the Kid’s Fun Zone – a children’s amusement area complete with inflatables, bouncers, kids’ games and rides – plus treats for grown-ups, like a beverage garden, vendor village and much more. The Y108 Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic is presented by Max Trax Digital Music on Cogeco Digital Cable and Lakeport Brewery, in association with The Y108 Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic takes place at Gage Park on August 4 at noon.
