(Toronto, Canada and Los Angeles, CA) Corus Entertainment Inc. (TSE: CJR.B; NYSE: CJR) and DMX MUSIC, Inc. today announced transactions that will result in the exchange of their ownership interests in digital music subscription services to residential and commercial customers in Canada.

Today’s transactions will result in Corus Entertainment acquiring ownership of the existing Canadian residential subscription business and DMX MUSIC, Inc. gaining ownership of the Canadian commercial business. DMX is a digital music subscription service available to homes and businesses worldwide. In Canada, residential customers receive the service through their digital cable or satellite service provider. Commercial customers are serviced directly by a dedicated sales force and receive the music service through satellite, digital cable or CD-interactive.

Brad Trumble, previously with Corus, has been named DMX MUSIC’s Vice President of Canadian Operations based in Calgary. Trumble will initially be responsible for overseeing the transition of the commercial business from Corus to DMX MUSIC. Ron Saunders will continue to manage Corus’ DMX residential business.

In making the announcement, John Cassaday, President and CEO of Corus Entertainment, said, “This transaction is consistent with Corus’ plan to focus on our core businesses and maximize the operating effectiveness of those businesses. The residential music service is highly synergistic with Corus’ subscriber-based television operations. Our residential customers who receive our service through cable or satellite will be unaffected by this ownership change.”

“Our roster of more than 7,000 commercial clients in Canada will now not only enjoy the best in music programming, they will also benefit from new services such as imaging and messaging, which have proven to positively affect a company’s bottom line,” said Gregory Probert, President and CEO, DMX MUSIC. “DMX MUSIC’s commercial customers in Canada will find our commitment to customer service unparalleled.”
