Watch the first full-episode in advance of its television premiere starting December 18

(Toronto, ON – December 18, 2015) Based on the popular young adult novel by Blake Nelson, Recovery Road revolves around high school party-girl Maddie, who doesn’t think she has a problem, until she gets busted for possessing alcohol forcing her to choose between expulsion and rehab. ABC Spark will screen the first episode of Recovery Road in advance of its television premiere starting today, Friday, December 18, on Facebook. Viewers can also watch the episode following the sneak peek on VOD and ABCSpark.ca starting Tuesday, December 22. The series debuts on ABC Spark Monday, January 25 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT and stars Jessica Sula (Skins), Alexis Carra (Mixology), Sebastian De Souza (The Borgias), Daniel Franzese (Mean Girls), Sharon Leal (Dreamgirls), Kyla Pratt (Dr. Doolittle) and David Witts (East Enders).

In the premiere episode, titled “Blackout,” when Maddie’s high school guidance counselor confronts her about the severity of the situation, she can’t see the problem with her hard-partying ways. Forced to face facts, Maddie makes the difficult decision to live with other recovering addicts at a sober living facility at night. She’s determined to keep it all a secret from her peers as she continues her regular high school routine by day. “Blackout” was written by Bert V. Royal and Karen DiConcetto and directed by Lawrence Trilling.
