(Toronto, Canada) Once a year, Canada’s largest, most influential new rock station, 102.1 the Edge, celebrates the best of independent and alternative music at the Edge CASBY Music Awards. Tonight, after nationwide fan voting, the 2013 Edge CASBY Music Award winners were announced live at the Sound Academy in Toronto.
The 2013 Edge CASBY Music Award winners are:

Molson Canadian Favourite New Artist:  Walk Off The Earth
Favourite New Single: 
Thirst – City And Colour
Favourite Sugar Beach Session:  Hollerado
Favourite New Record:  The Sticks
– Mother Mother

The show also featured high-energy performances by some of Canada’s favourite independent and alternative rock bands including Hollerado, Said The Whale, Walk Off The Earth, Serena Ryder and Mother Mother. This year’s winners join past CASBY-honourees Billy Talent, Metric, Arcade Fire, among many others.

The CASBY Awards began in 1981 as an alternative to the Juno Awards and were originally called the U-Knows. Unlike many awards shows, CASBY winners are chosen entirely by the fans.
