About the Role

Global Saskatoon is currently seeking a Full-Time Writer/Producer/Editor to join their team. This is a Group 3 Bargaining Unit Position. This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager – Lyndon Bray.

The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions, but does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities that  may be assigned to this position:


  • Concept development, writing, producing and directing of local productions:
  • News promos {including News, Weather, and Sports} and News contest spots, Community Event promos, local retail commercials and long format videos.
  • Work directly with Account representatives in producing commercials for local clients.
  • Collaborate in the development of News Promotions in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and News Director.
  • Work with the Marketing manager on Community Event promos for station sponsored events.

About You 

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Diploma/degree in broadcast television or film and video
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field
  • Strong creative and organizational skills
  • Non-linear editing skills (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and related software)
  • Writing skills
  • Manage and maintain news promotion advertising
  • EFP Camera operation an asset
  • Proven leader that can work cooperatively with others in a team setting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess a desire to be the best
  • Ability to write/produce web, text, and social media content
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Perform, as required, other related duties
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
