Part Time Receptionist / Promotions Assistant

About the Role:

We’re looking for the next superstar to represent The World Famous CFOX, Rock 101, 980 CKNW and AM 730 at our busy front desk, keeping everyone organized and making winners wish they worked here! This isn’t your ordinary reception job and so we’re looking for someone extraordinary! If you’re looking for a job that’s somehow both challenging and fun, please read on:


  • Meet and greet listeners, guests and callers in a friendly, professional manner that leaves them with a positive, memorable experience
  • Distribute prizes to winners, following procedures set by the Promotions department
  • Assist the Promotions department with overall day-to-day duties, which include data entry and coordination of prizing information, along with possible involvement in off-site promotional activations and tactics
  • General office admin duties – be the Executive Assistant’s right hand in keeping the office running smoothly
  • Management of the front desk – keeping it organized and tidy, creating and working with systems and processes for ultimate efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Primary work hours are generally between 12:00pm and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to assist during vacations or illness

What We Need From You:

  • A background in promotions, event planning, customer service or administration (or all of the above) – previous reception experience isn’t required
  • Dependability: be reliable and punctual
  • Technical skills: recent, advanced experience with Microsoft Office is a must, along with an overall ability to quickly learn new programs and software
  • A friendly, positive personality: with listeners, visitors and your fellow staff members
  • People skills: you’re a fabulous communicator and can keep yourself calm, composed and positive, no matter what happens
  • The ability to work as an integrated member of a team while also being able to self-motivate with minimal supervision
  • Extreme levels of organization and exceptionally efficient: you’re a master of creating and maintaining systems, you love detail and hate a mess
  • Proactive to a fault: you know what everyone needs before they need it
  • Always willing to help: you’ve never played the “that’s not my job” card
  • You have either prior knowledge of the radio industry or a very keen interest in learning about it
