About the Role

Corus Radio Digital has an exciting new opportunity full time position as FM DIGITAL CONTENT COORDINATOR at our Calgary office. Reporting to the Director of Digital (Radio), the successful candidate will work with our team to execute our Digital strategies across Country 105 and Q107.  Flexibility is required. She, or he. will be expected to produce compelling web and multi-platform content, including text-based, video and interactive online features


  • Grow the digital presence of our FM brands Country 105 and Q107 in Calgary
  • Manage the full digital presence for news across Country 105 and Q107. Engage audiences through various social media platforms.
  • Createdaily local original blog content on Country 105 and Q107, social platforms, mobile apps.
  • Planning and creating compelling and original multi-media news web content, including breaking news, long-form written features, photo- and video-based features, and interactive features.
  • Working directly with the teams, to coordinate market-leading entertainment news coverage.
  • Manage all social accounts for Country 105 and Q107
  • Create and edit daily social and on demand video in coordination with on air hosts.
  • Design and execute all special coverage content for website and social media.
  • Design campaigns for promotions or programming as required
  • Adhere to all editorial standards and best practices provided by VP of Digital and editorial standards.
  • Utilize online tools, such as content management systems (WordPress), photo databases (CP/AP, Getty) wire news service interfaces (Quickwire, ENPS),
  • ANALYTICS:  Responsible to provide all members of the digital and programming teams weekly analytics on Social, Mobile, Site and streaming activity for the brands in your cluster.  Actionable strategic observations provided with al reports.
  • DEPARTMENTAL WORKFLOW: Responsible to ensure all projects are executed professionally and on time.  Assign all duties related to particular projects to members of the local New Media team.

About You

What We Need From You:

  • College or university degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in Journalism, New Media, or Communications.
  • Must have 3 years minimum experience in major News Media and developing online content.
  • Must have excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for all forms of news – everything from international events to politics, the arts,pop culture, sports, as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media.
  • Excellent writing, copy editing and substantive editing skills.
  • Must be a collaborator with excellent personal skills and be able to train and educate other employees of varying skill levels.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for all forms of news – everything from international events to politics, the arts,pop culture, sports, as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media.
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress CMS, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and a familiarity with HTML, Flash and Javascript.
  • Must be proficient in Omniture, Comscore, Social Media and streaming metrics and be able to provide strategic guidance based on a variety of metrics.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital production techniques, including online information architecture, digital project management, video encoding and distribution, and organic story creation.
  • Diverse content experience across multiple verticals and formats, including digital video, text articles, blogs, social media tools, digital photos.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize, as necessary.
