Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis lends voice to Treehouse Toon Nelvana’s stunning CGI series Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends, based on the bestselling books by David Kirk, debuts at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7
(Toronto, Canada) Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a bug’s-eye view of the world? This March, Nelvana’s Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends joins Treehouse’s programming lineup, offering Canadian preschoolers an animated glimpse into the lush, colourful world of Sunny Patch. Canada’s number-one preschool network will air the previously broadcast first season (26 episodes) before all-new episodes premiere this fall. Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends follows the adventures of Bounce, Squirt and the rest of Miss Spider’s irrepressible bug brood as they explore the marvellous, miniature wonderland of Sunny Patch.
“This series is a perfect fit for Treehouse and a complement to our top-rated stable of high-quality preschool programs,” said Phil Piazza, Vice President, Programming, Corus Children’s Television. “We’re confident that Miss Spider, Bounce and Squirt will become household names as Treehouse viewers get caught in the web of their adventures.”
“Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends, set in a whimsical world that is a metaphor for a child’s own, encourages kids to appreciate the differences in others,” said Scott Dyer, Nelvana’s Executive VP of Production and Development. “We couldn’t think of a better broadcast home than a ‘treehouse’ for a series that takes preschoolers on some pretty powerful pint-sized adventures.”
Based on the books by David Kirk and featuring the voice of Kristin Davis (Sex and the City) as Miss Spider, Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends is set to debut on Treehouse Tuesday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m., with a repeat at 6 p.m. The series will air Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. The premiere episode, I’ll Fly Away, brings two dragonfly barnstormers to Sunny Patch, and Dragon, Miss Spider’s adopted son, faces a tough dilemma: Should he stay with the spider family he loves or take off for a life of dragonfly adventures with the Flying Aces?
