TORONTO – Corus Entertainment has something for everyone to get into the holiday spirit this season with themed episodes, new and classic movies, and merry marathons airing across its portfolio of leading specialty networks. Culinary enthusiasts can celebrate The Most Delicious Time of the Year with decadent holiday programming on Food Network Canada and recently announced Cooking Channel Canada, while holiday romantics are invited to tune into W Network and Lifetime Canada for new and returning sentimental films, and exclusive hit movie titles. Showcase is the number one destination for viewers to get their Hollywood blockbuster fix throughout the season and YTV invites families to enjoy a very Merry 6mas with their favourite seasonal classics. With over 3,100 hours of holiday content, this year’s lineup delivers holiday cheer into everyone’s stocking.

Food Network Canada serves up a festive platter of programming during The Most Delicious Time of the Year with season premieres and holiday-themed episodes of the network’s most popular series:

  • Start those ovens! Holiday Baking Championship is back in an all-new season with nine of the best bakers vying for the ultimate cash prize. Airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
  • ‘Tis the season for holiday cheer as Cake Wars: Christmas Hosted by Jonathan Bennett, seven teams of cake artists, sugar sculptors and master food carvers go to battle to create mind-blowing Christmas fantasy creations. The series airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
  • Sugar Showdown premieres with back-to-back episodes “Stocking Stuffer Donuts” and “Winter Wonderland Pies” on Wednesday, December 7 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT
  • Viewers can indulge in other specials that are sure to satisfy their holiday appetite:
    • Giada’s Holiday Handbook seasonal specials air Sundays at 12 p.m. ET/ 9 a.m. PT beginning November 27

Just in time for the holidays, Cooking Channel Canada launches on December 12. Be sure to tune-in for brand new, exclusive programming and holiday specials from Cooking Channel celebrity cooks Tiffani Thiessen, Rev Run, and Patti LaBelle.

  • In Christmas at Tiffani’s, Tiffani Thiessen and her husband, Brady Smith, host a holiday party for their nearest and dearest friends, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and his wife, Catriona, Tim and Elisa DeKay, and Jason and Naomi Priestley. Christmas at Tiffani’s debuts on Friday, December 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT followed by Rev Run’s Happy Holidays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, which features Rev Run (Joseph Simmons) and his family as they prepare the menu for their annual feast.
  • Rounding out the night, Patti LaBelle welcomes YouTube star James Wright Chanel to her kitchen to make her favourite pies of the season in Patti LaBelle’s Holiday Pies premiering at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

  • Leading lady Emily Blunt and Oscar-nominee Tom Cruise star in the Canadian broadcast premiere of sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow. Unfolding in a near future where an alien race has hit Earth, an officer (Cruise) is inexplicably thrown into a time loop, forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over. Edge of Tomorrow debuts Saturday, November 26 at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT with an encore presentation at 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. PT exclusively on
  • In this modern take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Scrooged features funny-man Bill Murray as Frank Cross a successful television executive whose curmudgeonly nature has driven away the love of his life. But after firing a staff member on Christmas Eve, Frank is visited by a series of ghosts who give him a chance to re-evaluate his actions and right the wrongs of his past. Scrooged airs Saturday, December 10 at 5 p.m. ET/ 2 p.m. PT.
  • Acclaimed actor Tom Hanks stars in the modern holiday classic, The Polar Express, which revolves around Billy, played by Hayden McFarland, who on Christmas Eve is visited in the middle of the night by a mysterious train promising to take him and a group of other lucky children to the North Pole for a visit with Santa. The Polar Express airs Saturday, December 24 at 3 p.m. ET/ 12 p.m. PT.
  • Friday nights are full of holiday cheer with weekly Canadian broadcast premieres of holiday movies at 8 p.m. ET/PT leading up to Christmas including: Operation Christmas, Runaway Sleigh, and A Rooftop Christmas Tree.

  • When the opportunity to co-host a local talk show presents itself two weeks before Christmas, Emily and Charlie compete for the coveted gig, but along the way, the duo experience the true meaning of Christmas with each other in Broadcasting Christmas. Starring Melissa Joan Hart and Dean Cain. Premieres December 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
