Successful tween brand takes leap into live-action with help from TELETOON and Nelvana (Toronto) – Canadian production house Fresh TV Inc. is in development with TELETOON Canada inc. and Nelvana to develop a 6TEEN live-action TV movie. The animated sitcom about six teens who work in a shopping mall is regularly a top-rated show with kids 6-11 and has been a staple of the networkÕs schedule for the past three years, with a total of 95 half-hours ordered to date. Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, the creators of 6TEEN, and the newest TELETOON hit series Total Drama Island, are currently penning the feature script but keeping mum about story details. ÒThe characters of 6TEEN have become household names for Canadian tweens and teens, and we plan to take these characters to a whole new level with the live-action feature,Ó said Pertsch. Principal photography is currently scheduled for fall 2009 and casting will begin later this year. Fresh is planning to leave no stone unturned in its search for the brightest new Canadian talent.
