Nelvana is comprised of Nelvana Studios and Nelvana Enterprises.
Nelvana Studios develops and produces animated content, and is part of Corus Kids entertainment portfolio led by Scott Dyer, Executive Vice President, General Manager, Corus Kids, that includes specialty channels YTV, Treehouse, Discovery Kids Canada as well as a 50% stake in TELETOON. Nelvana Studios operates out of a state-of-the-art digital animation production facility in Toronto.
Nelvana Enterprises is the international distribution arm of Corus Entertainment. Nelvana Enterprises distributes Nelvana programming to broadcasters, home entertainment and digital distribution (electronic sell thru, video on demand, advertising supported streaming) partners the world over. Led by Doug Murphy, President, Nelvana Enterprises, the company also administers directly or through agents the consumer products activities for Nelvana brands in all markets.
Nelvana’s library now has well over 3,000 half-hour animated episodes including such well known properties as
Babar, Franklin, Rolie Polie Olie, and
Berenstain Bears. Its newer shows include
Ruby Gloom and
Di-Gata Defenders.
Nelvana’s content has aired in over 160 countries and has received over 70 major international program awards including Emmys, Geminis and in 2006, the award for Best Animated Program at the Banff World Television Festival (for
Jane and the Dragon, co-produced with New Zealand’s Weta Productions Ltd.).
Nelvana is headquartered in Toronto, with personnel in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Shannon, Caracas and Copenhagen.
