THE MOVIE NETWORK, MOVIE CENTRAL AND HBO CANADA PROGRAMMING RECOGNIZED WITH SEVEN GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS
(Toronto, ON) – As the first Canadian home of some of television’s most critically acclaimed and sought-after programming, Astral Media’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada), Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada), and HBO Canada, a multiplex channel of The Movie Network and Movie Central, are pleased to announce hit HBO and Showtime programming carried by the channels has received seven Golden Globe Awards®.
As was announced last night by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, winners include:
Dexter (Showtime) - Best Performance By An Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Michael C. Hall)
- Best Performance By An Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television (John Lithgow)
The fourth season of Dexter recently concluded with an explosive and much-talked about finale episode. All twelve episodes from season four are currently available on demand.
Grey Gardens (HBO) - Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
- Best Performance By An Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Drew Barrymore)
Grey Gardens continues to re-air on HBO Canada.
United States of Tara (Showtime) - Best Performance By An Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical (Toni Collette)
United States of Tara will return for a second season on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT on The Movie Network and Movie Central.
Big Love (HBO) - Best Performance By An Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Chloë Sevigny)
New episodes of Big Love (Season 4) continue to premiere Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada.
Taking Chance (HBO) - Best Performance By An Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Kevin Bacon)
Taking Chance continues to re-air on HBO Canada.
