THE MOVIE NETWORK AND MOVIE CENTRAL OFFER AN ONLINE, ON DEMAND AND IN-FLIGHT PREVIEW OF THE CANADIAN ORIGINAL SERIES BLOODLETTING & MIRACULOUS CURES

(Toronto, Canada) – Beginning today, Astral Media’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada) are offering subscribers and non-subscribers alike numerous opportunities to catch a sneak preview the new Canadian original series Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures leading up to its network premiere on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 8 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada.

Based on the Scotiabank Giller Award-winning book by Vincent Lam, the series is set in the fictional Toronto Mercy Hospital, and follows the lives of three talented, driven and conflicted doctors – Fitz (Shawn Ashmore), Ming (Mayko Nguyen) and Chen (Byron Mann) – and draws back the curtain on their lives as they tend to medical emergencies, perform surgeries and manage their own emotional triage. The first episode will be available on the following platforms:

Beginning Tuesday, December 22 to Sunday, January 10, the first episode will be available free of charge at:
THE MOVIE NETWORK ONDEMAND
Beginning today in Eastern Canada, the premiere episode is available for a three-week preview via The Movie Network OnDemand and The Movie Network OnLine with Bell TV. In addition, non-subscribers in Eastern Canada will have the chance to sample the episode during this same period for free through the video on demand services of participating cable providers including: Cogeco Cable, EastLink Cable, , Source Cable, Seaside Cable, Compton Cable, Execulink Cable, Wightman Cable, Mitchell Seaforth Cable and Kincardine Cable. DVD samplers will be distributed by select cable providers in Eastern Canada through retail stores, home shows and door-to-door installers.

MOVIE CENTRAL ON DEMAND
Starting Tuesday, December 29 in Western Canada, the premiere episode will be available on Movie Central On Demand and free-of-charge through the on demand services of participating cable and telco providers including: Shaw Cablesystems, SASKTEL, Access and Westman.

AIR CANADA IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
In time for the busy holiday travel season, The Movie Network and Movie Central have partnered with Air Canada to offer passengers an exclusive sneak peek of Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures before its network premiere. The first episode will be available on the carrier’s enRoute Television On Demand platform on all domestic and international flights for the entire month of January.
