Based on the Scotiabank Giller Award-winning book by Vincent Lam and adapted by Governor General’s Award-winner Jason Sherman, Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures is an eight-part original series from The Movie Network and Movie Central that follows three talented, driven and conflicted doctors. The series draws back the curtain on the private and public lives of three brilliant young doctors – Fitz (Shawn Ashmore), Ming (Mayko Nguyen) and Chen (Byron Mann) – as they navigate medical emergencies, perform surgeries and manage their own emotional triage.

In season 4 of HBO’s polygamous drama that follows Bill Henrickson, his three wives and now-nine children, Bill launches yet another business venture amidst a swirl of personal issues that plague him. At the same time, Bill considers a run for the State Senate in Utah and the chance to seize the Prophet mantle at Juniper Creek. Starring Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloë Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin.

DIAGNOSIS BIPOLAR: FIVE FAMILIES SEARCH FOR ANSWERS
(WORLD PREMIERE; HBO ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY)
Wednesday, January 13 at 8 p.m.

This one-hour documentary follows five American families as they deal with the struggles, hopes and fears that arise from raising young children diagnosed with the controversial Bipolar Mood Disorder, a diagnosis now applied to approximately 800,000 children in the United States. Shot over the course of 12 months, the documentary shows the dramatic differences in the children’s behaviour both on and off medication, and reveals the emotional and difficult decisions these parents must make to ensure their children are properly cared for.

A FAMILY IS A FAMILY: A ROSIE O’DONNELL CELEBRATION
(WORLD PREMIERE; HBO ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY)
Sunday, January 31 at 7 p.m. (day-and-date with HBO in the U.S.)

In this 40-minute documentary, celebrity Rosie O’Donnell celebrates what it means to be a family. Comprised of original songs, musical performances and recordings by the likes of Ziggy Marley, Bonnie Raitt, Doris Day and Frank Sinatra, the documentary provides a moving portrait of the remarkable diversity of families today, including same-sex parents, mixed-heritage families and stories of adoption.
v BAND OF BROTHERS
(NETWORK PREMIERE; HBO ORIGINAL MINISERIES)
Tuesday, January 5 at 9 p.m.

Based on the best-selling book Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose and executive produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, this epic 10-part miniseries tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Starting with their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942, it recounts the achievements of the elite rifle company, which parachuted into France early on D-Day morning, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and captured Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden. The network premiere will be preceded by the Band of Brothers-themed documentary We Stand Alone Together at 8 p.m.

NASTY SHOW 3
(WORLD PREMIERE; CANADIAN ORIGINAL COMEDY SPECIAL)
Saturday, January 16 at 11 p.m.

Comedian Bobby Slayton returns to the stage to host the third edition of this Canadian comedy special. Taped during the 2009 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Quebec, the special will feature performances by Ari Shaffir, Jimmy Carr, Thea Vidale, Kurt Metzger and Mike Wilmot.

HBO BOXING AFTER DARK
(WORLD PREMIERE; LIVE SPORTING EVENTS)
New match-up on Saturday, January 23 at 9:45 p.m.

Showcasing an all-new matchup every month, HBO Boxing After Dark gives the most promising contenders their chance to battle it out in non-title, non-championship fight events. Fight details to be announced.

Catch all the action live as HBO Canada presents new matches each month with the top talent and contenders from the world of professional boxing on HBO World Championship Boxing, featuring blow-by-blow commentary from the likes of Lennox Lewis, Bob Papa, Max Kellerman and Harold Lederman.
