DUSK NOVEMBER 2009 PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS

(Toronto, Canada) DUSK features supernatural, thriller and suspense-based Hollywood feature films and television series seven days a week, 24-hours-a-day. November features recent vampire films including; Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and a young Kirsten Dunst, Lost Boys starring Kiefer Sutherland and Buffy The Vampire Slayer starring his father Donald Sutherland.


DON’T WORRY, I WON’T BITE EVENT
From horrific Count Orlok in 1922’s Nosferatu to steamy Edward Cullen from the Twilight movies, vampires have undergone a serious revamp, and on Saturday nights in November, DUSK features the evolution of the sexy bloodsuckers with titles including Lost Boys (1987), Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1992), Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) and the premiere of Queen of the Damned (2002).

Queen of the Damned (2002) premieres Saturday, November 28 at 9 p.m.
Based on Anne Rice’s novel of the same name, the Vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend) rises from a decades-long slumber and is no longer content with being banished to the shadows, and reinvents himself as the most popular rock star on the planet. As the intoxicating lure of his music makes its way around the world, it finds the ears of the slumbering ancient Queen Akasha (Aaliyah). The Mother of all Vampires, Akasha has been resting for centuries, waiting for the right time to rise again and seize dominion over the world, and she desires Lestat to rule beside her.

Don’t Say A Word (2001) premieres Friday, November 6
at 9 p.m.
When prominent psychiatrist Nathan Conrad’s (Michael Douglas) daughter is kidnapped and used as collateral, he is forced to help a group of dangerous men who will stop at nothing to recover a stolen jewel worth $10 million. Given an ultimatum from his daughter’s captors, Dr. Conrad must pry critical information from a seriously disturbed young woman (Brittany Murphy) and get her to reveal a six digit number hidden under a dark secret. Don’t Say a Word also stars Oliver Platt, Famke Janssen and Jennifer Esposito.

Suspect Zero
(2004) premieres Friday, November 13 at 9 p.m.
Recently demoted and isolated FBI Agent Thomas Mackelway (Aaron Eckhart) and his new partner Agent Fran Kulok (Carrie-Anne Moss) are on the trail of Ben O'Ryan (Ben Kingsley), a serial killer who exclusively targets other serial killers. As the investigation proceeds, the agents begin to become aware of the possible existence of "Suspect Zero", a rumored serial killer responsible for hundreds of deaths across U.S. leaving no evidence behind to link the crimes together. The agents must decide if O'Ryan is the key that will allow them to catch Suspect Zero, or if he is actually the man they are looking for.
 
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2003) premieres Friday, November 20
at 9 p.m.
Set in 18th century France, the film tells the story of an olfactory genius, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) and his homicidal quest for the perfect scent. Raised in an orphanage, Grenouille grew into a strangely detached young man with a superhuman sense of smell. After discovering a perfect scent created by the death of a young woman, Grenouille embarks on a killing spree, murdering beautiful virgins and capturing their scents. He dumps the girls' corpses around the city, creating an uproar that threatens to tear the city apart. Co-Starring Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman the film was a financial success, especially in Europe, earning $135 million worldwide. However, it was deemed unmarketable for North American audiences.
