Media Spend Analyst

About the Role

The Media Spend Analyst is responsible for media invoicing for Shaw and its affiliated companies.  In addition, the candidate is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the processing and payment of media invoicing for Shaw and its affiliates
  • Track all processed invoices against expected spend and balance accounts payable within each campaign
  • Work with Finance, client team, and outside 3rd party vendors to ensure timely delivery of invoices, accurate accruals & reversals, and reconciliation of discrepancies
  • Monitoring of all reporting deliverables (monthly actuals & forecasts, YE and QE), ensuring timely submission in line with deadlines
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Assist in any internal/external financial audits
  • Other ad-hoc projects
  • Respond to requests for information quickly and accurately
  • Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner
  • Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • Develop reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive

About You

What We Need From You:

  • 3+ years of financial & reporting experience
  • Thorough understanding of the financial process
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
  • CPA certification ideal but not required
  • Ability to engage with all work-related contacts in a professional and respectful manner
  • Establish strong internal and external relationships
  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them
  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
